Inquiry:
On Thursday afternoon we had a guest speaker come into room 15 to tell us about their childhood. The guest speaker was actually Miss Morrells mum! She is 57 so it was interesting for our class to learn about childhood and life 50 years ago. We learnt about milk at school, riding bikes or horses to school, uniforms, dress types, what people used to do for fun etc. We were shocked that there were no electronics and that parents would just let you go outside and play until it was dark. School work sounded much the same except children had to sit by themselves and the teacher would sit at the front. We also learnt about the strap and the cane! This was very surprising to lots of our class. We asked lots of intelligent questions and showed our virtues to our guest. We have lots of questions about this time now and are burning to ask them! A great way to start our inquiry.

Studyladder
Room 15 now has Studyladder up and running, its a handy way for us to practise our maths, reading and spelling as well as fun educational games.
Each child has been given their username and password. They collect points for all the great work they do and our class has its own podium, plus when the children get certain amounts of points they get certificates!
